On December 7th, 2017 the Australian Parliament passed a bill for legalisation of same-sex marriage. The day after , December 8th, it received the royal assent from the Governor General which means that the following day, December 9th, the Law comes into effect allowing same-sex marriage starting from January 9TH, 2019.
